I Won!
My design will be featured on a citibank gift card!
As an excersize I've been playing with digital painting in photoshop. One of the things I painted was a picture of a koi fish (pictured) because my boyfriend asked me to draw him a picture. I found out about this Citibank gift card contest and decided to enter my koi fish because I thought it be cool to see a credit card with an illustration on it since it's different than what you usually see on them. In May I was contacted as one of three finalists. For one month voting would take place, so I contacted all my friends to put a vote in. By mid-June I recieved a phone call telling me I won!

On the right you can see what it will look like as a gift card.

My first commissioned art piece!
Mounted Ram's Head with Pink Fur
This is one of the most curious and most fun projects I've been asked to make, and actually paid to do it! Someone I had done illustration work for asked if I could create a feminized version of a mounted ram's head for her to display in her home. I'm always up for a creative challenge!
I started with a molded form of a ram's head and glass replica ram eyes from a taxidermy shop. Made the horns from scratch with papier mache with magic sculpt and sculpted the eyelids. Made the top hat from thick paper and satin and the ears I cut out of leather. Then painted her up, glued on some big eyelashes, attached the faux pink fur, strung some giant pearls, and gave her some red lipstick to finish it off.
See more pictures here.
(No rams were harmed in the creation of this art.) ;)
